Drawing an alphabet – o

Personal project.
A letter o
A ‘found’ ‘o’

Initial idea: ‘found’ shape

This is the only letter I’ve done based on a ‘found’ shape. When I say ‘found’ I mean ‘made by me using ink and a pipette’.

There are some entirely ‘found’ fonts but they serve the same function as juggling: to entertain only the person doing it.

Things that look like the idea of things.

It doesn’t matter in this case but this actual ink splot probably doesn’t look like your idea of an ink splot. I could have drawn a more ink-splot-looking ink splot but then that wouldn’t have been as realistic as this, an actual (tracing of an) ink splot. Ideas of ink splots are more familiar to us than actual ink splots. This probably applies to a lot of other things too.

This is part of a project to draw the letters of the alphabet in different styles.

Bonus feature

Letters into logos

It wasn’t the original intent but the potential was obviously there – I’ve turned some of the letters into logos and branding. I’ve had to invent companies to match the logos, which is not the usual order of things.
